Re: HV Dryers
I have the blue Double K dryer. The only reason I bought it was because that is what was used at grooming school. I have never tried anything else. I like it, though it is noisy.

Re: HV Dryers
Well that's what you get for complaining LOL. One of our HV Dryers died today. Nooooooooooo, not just before Christmas. Sent it to Deboers for repair hopefully it is fixable, really don't want to have to get a new one right now.

Re: HV Dryers
I just have the cheap Metro Air Force Commander. That's all I've ever used, it works great but I'd like to find something quieter.

Re: HV Dryers
I have a Metro Air Force Blaster, it doesn't have an ergonomic handle and makes your hand tired holding it but it is powerful. I have used the Dri-Eaze and like it too, I like the handle.
I dry dogs with 1 or 2 HVDs and 1 or 2 stand dryers on them, depends on how much time I have on my hands.

Re: HV Dryers
I have a K9II at home and we also use them at the school! They are awesome and dry very fast. We do have to wear ear protection though as doing multiple dogs in a day would not be a good idea without it.

Dryer
The k9 III is the best. I tried it has 2 setting speeds blows water from heavey coats great and dries them fast.

Re: HV Dryers
I am interested in the K9 1-111 HVD's, everyone seems to agree they are the best. What are they like? Are they just very powerful or do they have heat too?

Re: HV Dryers
I'm going to need to purchase an HV soon... I haven't decided on which one I want, but I think I definitely do not want the metro air force commander as I used one before and didn't like it AT ALL... I'm trying to think of which one I used at my old job before I moved... Anyways, are there any places in TO that sell them retail? I don't want to ship in from the states (soooo costly!!)... But I'd buy one off of a groomer if there was something available...

Re: HV Dryers
You can purchase dryers from Rens Pets Depot, Pet Suppy House or Deboer Tool. They are all located in Ontario and if you have a business number I believe they give you a bit of a discount.

Re: HV Dryers
I use the orange metro air force commander.. it's all I've ever used at school and when I took over the shop it was what the old groomer had. It is getting old and sometimes doesnt work if it doesn't feel like it.. I just punch it a few times and it wakes up. I was interested in the DriEaz because its supposed to be quiet, but I hear good things about the K91 or 11, I'm not so sure I want the K9111.. seems a bit too powerful for me.
This was about HV dryers but I'll have to add that I have the Oster stand dryer and although it wasn't my first choice because of quality I love it and how easy it is to use. I was going to go with the Edemco F7001 but I wanted something significantly quiter than the HV and the Edemco is a lot louder than the Oster.

Re: HV Dryers
We recently purchased the K91 and are loving it! What a great dryer, cuts down on time and with the added bonus of heat it gets the coat so nice and straight.
We originally bought the K9II but when we realized that we needed a special outlet and it's own breaker we decided to send it back and go with the K9I. Well using the K9I now I can't imagine what the more powerful one would be like (little dogs would be plastered against the wall 0_0 )

Re: HV Dryers
I ripped off the stupid "ergonomic handle" from the Dri-Eaz dryer and replaced it with the nozzle from a K9-2.

Re: HV Dryers
That handle is very hard on your wrist isn't it. I end up holding the hose and using it.
