Edemco Hydraulic Tables
Just wondering if anyone has one. I've been thinking about getting one of the pump hydraulic tables with the arm that swings from side to side. Does anyone have one, would you reccomend it? Is there enough room to sit at it and put your legs under the table? Is the table top/arm strong enough for a large dog that pulls back on the arm?I'd hate to spend all that money and it break.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Edemco Hydraulic Tables
I have the edemco hydraulic... no room for your legs underneath which I didn't really think about before. I didn't get the swing arm b/c the retailer said most people don't like it. I got a heavy duty arm, some dogs pull it a bit, but it stands up more than any other I've tried. I got the large table, which is nice since I do big and small dogs, but it is a long walk around the table when you gotta tiny one on there. But also good cause I'm always keeping my tools on the table and there's lots of room for that.

Thanks elizabeth.
Did the retailer happen to say why groomers didn't like the arm? Everytime i do a large dog with a "groomable" head, i swear at the one that i have, i wish i could move it out of the way. Do you happen to know if the moving one locks at all, or is it always "swinging"?

He said it was because it doesn't lock... but I find that hard to believe, you'd think they would be able to lock.
Do you have the groomers helper? They have a half grooming arm type piece that you can clamp anywhere and keeps the dogs head still. I love it.

Really, i hope it does lock, i don't understand why it wouldn't, kind of useless if it doesn't.
Yep i have the groomers helper, we use it a lot, i find i use the clamp part everyday, just to hold my grooming arms that always slip!!!

Re: Edemco Hydraulic Tables
SK9, Did you actually get the table at the show or did you have to wait for it to be delivered? If delivered, do you mind telling me how much the shipping was?
I have been been looking at the electric table but I'm wondering how expensive the shipping will be. If you have it already, what do you think of the swing arm. I used to use one at Petsmart and I loved it. I really missed it when I left and had to use my own home made table! (what a come down) Even though it didn't lock, I never found it a problem, however, I never used it with a Groomers Helper so I don't know if it is a problem with that.
I am looking at the electric table because it goes lower than the hydraulic table I have now. I am trying to make it easier to do the large dogs as I am unable to do any lifting, so hopefully a lower table will let most of them jump up. Plus, the electric part will be easier than pumping it up. At least, that is what I think. Do you find the table lowers to a level the dogs can step onto?

Re: Edemco Hydraulic Tables
I picked the table up, the bulk shipping would have been $50 so i saved that. As for the arm, i do like it, it doesn't lock, so when i have a big dog swing its head whoever is standing by better watch out. I've almost taken out two of my groomers, but there learning. I have also noticed that the table does wobble a bit, but i suppose you will get that with any hydraulic table.

Re: Edemco Hydraulic Tables
I am absolutely still loving my table, it is so much easier to move the arm out of the way, then to accomodate the one that stands still.

Re: Edemco Hydraulic Tables
I find when I have a large nervous dog on the table it does wobble, for the ones that are super shaky I just put two wooden stools under the table and lower it on to them, sturdy as a rock.
Glad you like it!
PS, I saw your letter in the newest Canadian Groomer! Told the fiance, HEY I KNOW HER.. well not really, but kinda!
