Dryer repair
My orange Metro dryer has gone 'kaput". One minute it was working and the next it just stopped.
Has anyone had a similar problem. Was it worthwhile getting it fixed or is this one of those things that is more expensive to fix than buy a new one? Lastly, where does one go to get a dryer fixed. I don't even know where to begin. Mechanic? Electrician? Appliance repair?
Luckily, this is my spare dryer which I use as a backup incase my main dryer dies. However, I don't want to go into the Xmas season with no backup. It would be just my luck to have my main dryer die on the busiest day before Christmas with no backup!

Re: Dryer repair
I have gotten my dryers repaired at debour tool in Bolton(don't know where you are) and they are very good, they've even made me new legs for one of my stand dryers.
I aslo used to have one of those metro dryers and it kept doing that after repairing so I just gave up on fixing it.

Re: Dryer repair
I get my stuff repaired by sanders sharpening, he comes to the shop and takes a look at the stuff, so far so good. I haven't had to repair my little orange ones yet, i've had one 9 years, and its still going strong, my newer one is 4 years old, and it makes funny noises, is much weaker too. I think there just making them of lesser quality material these days, just like everything i suppose and there not lasting as long.

Re: Dryer repair
We have also used Deboers for our dryers, no problems. I didn't know Sanders did dryer repairs, will keep that in mind for the future!

Re: Dryer repair
Just a thought, if you're in the middle of nowhere like me you may want to try a vacuum repair shop, they might be able to help.

Re: Dryer repair
That's a good idea, thanks. I'm not exactly in the middle of nowhere but I didn't want to have to send it anywhere. I would rather somewhere within drivnig distance.
I know John Saunders will do it but I don't have the need to get anything sharpened right now so I don't know if he will come out just for the dryer repair.

Give him a call, if he's in the area I know he will come by.

Re: Dryer repair
He just stopped by last week for me and took my dryer. I only had 2 blades for him and he did them and didn't charge me a fee for the visit. Just ask him when he's around, he's really nice and normal!!! I find that a lot of sharpener guys are strange!!
