Re: Clippers
Well, my Andis Super 2 speed clipper quit on me yesterday. I had it on, put it down for a minute, then when I went to use it again, the switch didn't work! I just bought it in August, so it is still under warrenty. Good thing I'm not real busy right now, I have to go back to using my heavy Osters.

Re: Clippers
Have you tried them again. I have the one speed type and I find sometimes the switch seems to stop working. I put them down for a few minutes and it starts working again. Annoying but still better than using those very heavy Osters, LOL

Re: Clippers
I use Andis 2 speed and my laube Speed Feed for most of my clipping. I have a laube mini micro that I like because its thinner through the middle and not as heavy, and more powerful. I think I just use the Andis so much because I'm used to it, and I hear that Laube breaks down a lot and I really want these to last. I LOVE the speed feed but the blades gum up so quickly, I have two and I think I should get some more. The speed feed is so light, quiet and small.

Re: Clippers
My Andis clippers came back as good as new and I also sent my Laube clippers off for repair and they are just dandy again. So glad I can shove the Osters to the back of the cupboard
. I have ordered the Andis trimmer with the light, but they are on back order, so I'll have to wait a while longer for them.

Re: Clippers
I use the Andis cordless clippers. They weigh a tad bit more than the corded ones but it's totally worth it. I was so tired of my cord getting in the way. I keep the base/charger close to my work area & I put the clippers on it everytime I finish using them. They stay charged all the time & I've never had a problem with them. I wish I had switched over sooner, now I can't live without them. I also have the Wahl Mini Arco (pink ones) & they also come in handy.

Re: Clippers
I just got my Andis Trimmer with the LED light. It is quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it seems to do the job of trimming faces around the eye area and doing a finer clean up on the pads. It will take a little getting used to, I think I have go slower with it to get the job done right. The light is great!

The only Andis clipper with a light that i know of is the Lightspeed, which is a full-size clipper. I bought one a month ago, and I HATE the light
I also found that if I tried it around a head with the lights on, it really freaks the dogs out.

Re: Clippers
We recently purchased one of these and have since returned it. It was good for the underside of dark dogs, but man did that blade heat up really quickly.

Re: Clippers
Simplydogs, which Andis cordless did you get? I really want cordless but I've been hearing mixed opinions on them. How long have you had them and how are they holding up?

Re: Clippers
I have the Andis cordless clippers as well. They are the blue Power Groom ones (AGRC). I've had them for a year and a half, and I love them. In the beginning they ran at inconsistent speeds, revved up sometimes for no appparant reason. I got them fixed under warranty, apparantly they did that on a bunch of them. Since then no problems. I do find that I have to change the drive lever on them quite frequently (every 2-3 months) and they are a bit heavier in my hand. Sometimes when I'm really busy doing a lot of clipping I do put the cord on for a dog or two at the end of the day, so my wrist doesn't get sore, but in general I'm really happy with them.

Re: Clippers
I have a variety of clippers. I had the cordless lightening, the first one died sent it back the second one didn't last too long so sent that back never to be seen again. I have the mini micro laube of course, and I dropped it once and now it doesn't work. Rest in peace. Not sending it in cause their customer service stinks.
Bought the switchblade and its just ok, nothing to write home to mother about. Maybe I should have got the Km2 instead, who knows? I have 1 cordless Andis not the powergroom and it is a fine clipper but it does run slow good for timid dogs and cats.
I have 2 Andis 2 speeds and they are fine even if I dropped them which I have on many of occasions and they still work fine.
I use to have the Andis light speed clipper when they first came out a long time ago cause I ordered them from the states. They were slow light wasn't that good especially on black dogs and they heated up the blade extremely fast. I think the light had something to do with that. Sold that one .
Now for trimmers I have alot of them. For the bigger ones I have the arco moser and the bravura. The Bravura before the year warranty was up decided to stop taking a charge and sent them in . They fixed it and it worked for maybe 3 months of course past the warranty and they are not taking a charge again. So that one is useless but to be truthfull the arco is the favourite and most reliable and feel better in my hands kind of trimmer.
I also have the speed feed, they are having problems with that trimmer clipper because this is the second one I bought because the original one got broke, my fault but at least it worked .. The second one is slow and it will never get fast.
I have the mini arco, zipper by laube, and a few others I haven't really used yet still in the boxes. I got them for the price you would pay for a blade so why not.
If I want a mini clipper I always grab the zipper. It seems to be fine I've had it for awhile . The mini arco I don't use too much.
The blade is super fine and only good for very light fur thats hard to get at.
The lights on the trimmers and clippers are just a gimmick and most of those tiny trimmers are not very good. Just my opinion.
Poodlegirl I feel your pain I'd like to know who did pay for the mishap.
