Andis Cordless Clipper
I just bought a used Andis Cordless Clipper and a new battery, but because it is used I don't have any manuals or paperwork. I am wondering about how to charge the battery. Should I put it on the charger every time I am not using it, or should I wait until the battery completely dies, then put it on the charger? Any suggestion?
Also, What do the lights (red, quick charge vs and green, charge) on the charger mean? It's not as straight forward as you would think, LOL.
I want to make sure I use this battery right so it lasts as long as possible. The last cordless clipper I had (Laube), the battteries were useless after 6 months. If anyone can give me some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Andis Cordless Clipper
not sure if this is the case but when something has no charging memory it means that you can charge it up any time. With other things like cell phones you need to wait til they're either dead or almost dead before you charge them up again. It might say which one it is on the instructions. Which model is it?
I was looking for it online and the new ones say on their info: "Built-in ‘Refresher’ button recharges battery overnight – elimates battery memory. Battery can be charged seperately from the clipper.
another website said:
"Battery Charger with Sensa Charge charges battery in one hour, without overcharging, for one continuous hour of running time."
So yeah, a little too much time on my hands! Hope someone can give you an answer.

Re: Andis Cordless Clipper
That's my problem, I don't know what type of battery it is, if it need draining first or not. There were no instructions with the new battery. The lights on the charger are a little confusing. When I first put the battery on, both lights light up. After a short time the red "quick charge" light goes out, but the green "charge" light never goes out, so I don't know when it is charged and if it is bad to leave the battery sitting on the charger over night.
I admit, I haven't taken the time to search the internet yet for instructions. I thought I'd check here first.
The clipper is working great, though, so I happy with it. I can groom 3-4 dogs on one battery charge. I hope this lasts.

Re: Andis Cordless Clipper
LOL, me too, i'm happy with mine until i dropped it (well a dog kicked it off my table rather), now it doesn't seem to run as quickly.
What i have figured is that the green light blinks when its charged, stays on solid when it needs charging, not sure what the red does though.

Re: Andis Cordless Clipper
Hi, I can help with this one! I just bought a new clipper at Pet SUpply House. I couldn't find any info in the user pamphlet, but luckily I opened the case upside down
and saw the bottom of the charger.
Green light
unbroken line - fast charge
quick dots - charging complete
dashes - regresh
slow dots - charre preparation
Red Light
unbroken light - charge standby (analysing battery)
I hope your chargers are the same as this!
This one is a model AGR+/BGR+
