This poor, poor kitty

Post by Pixie Charm on September 27th 2008, 10:07 pm

I have someone asking me to trim her cat. The problem is this: The cat is 13 years old, has NEVER been groomed or had it's nails cut and the poor baby is apparently so badly matted (I haven't seen him yet) that he has trouble walking. She told me that it looks like one big dreadlock. Sounds like neglect to me and I was so upset with her and her spouse for letting that cat get in such a sad condition. I told her that having a pet is both a priveledge and a responsability, and that people who are that cruel should not have the right to own a pet. Although I have not yet seen him, I am tempted to tell her that the cat will have to be done by a vet. If he is as bad as she said, then he is probably in pain and will more than likely need sedation to get through the ordeal of being shaved. His claws are probably in-bedded in his pads as well. I mean, seriously!! How can people say they love their pet and then in the same breath say that they never did anything for him, except to feed him? Shame on them. Crying or Very sad

Sounds like it does need to done at the vets. Chances are it hasn't had any vaccines either.

Well, she finally had the cat taken care of. I do not know who did it or how they managed, but the cat looks 100 percent better and must feel like a spring chicken!
