Grrr...look what i found on Kijiji

Well this terrier is one of the wheatons i've been doing for over a year now. He is an IDIOT. He is one of those wheatons that has the really sparce coat, that looks like he's wet, not a very good looking one thats for sure. Well during most of his visits, i usually brush/bath him, his coat doesn't grow, and wow does he HATE the dematting. He is alwasy matted, she bathes him a lot at home. I believe the last time he was in, i shaved him with a 4 or 5, can't remember, but i do remember how bad he was for thee WHOLE process. Now i see this on Kijiji, grrrr....it makes me soooo mad. I'm tempted to email her, but i think i'll just let the next poor groomer deal with her rotten dog, and when she calls me after not being able to find someone to put up with her dog, i'll just let her know we're booked for a month in advance right now!!!

Hi sk9, that ad on Kijiji would really smart . I think, however, an experienced groomer would be able to tell that she and her dog may be the problem. Especially when she actually says she has been to "reputable groomers" and is still looking for a groomer. Most groomers also know what Wheaten's are like. I have one that is a difficult, but I must admit, is getting better. I don't know that I would take on another one, though. Hope this hasn't upset your holidays too much. I know I have been reflecting on a few clients that were regulars and I haven't seen in a few months. I would like to call them and see a) if there dog is okay and b) if they don't wish to use my services anymore, is there a reason why? But I don't have the nerve to do it.

Thanks atlantic, your right, i've been thinking about it all day, and it just irks me. It just bothers me that i have been trying to work with her dog, and yet still putting it through the dematting discomfort the owner wants, i feel as though it is a slap in my face. I cringe when the dog is booked, but i suppose she wasn't totally unhappy as she does state "reputable groomer" in the ad. I know she'll come crawling back as there are not many "good" groomers left in my area anymore, our numbers are dwindling quite quickly which is partially from those groomers that are opening up in there homes and grooming for a lesser price. Yes that can be a good thing for me, but when money is tight you might not care what your dog looks like. Perhaps...i could email and reccomend some groomers in markham, eh girls....hehehe

Look at it this way....what reputable groomer who can do wheatons is going to be looking on that site for clients???? Seems to me the only calls she will get are new groomers or grooming wannabe's that would be searching around for clients. Think of it as a blessing and when he does call back I would definetly be booked for several months (teehee).

I agree......i looked at his card today, i've never shaved him down, what a weirdo....he has only ever been a bath/tidy, then last time a #4 Wheaton clip, with scissored legs, i think if i remember correctly i told her i'm not going to dematt her dog again, he can't handle it. Good ridance!!!

Blech! Don't send him our way! Crazy dog plus crazy owner, I would just be happy they are gone. Also, any professional groomer who might possibly see her ad is going to also see all the lovely red flags.
