Have you ever wondered why...

I've been doing some thinking, and i'm baffled. Why does someone who doens't know the first thing about grooming, buy a grooming salon? I couldn't imagine owning one and not grooming or know anything about it. I know of two in my area who are owned by non groomer, one is actually a librarian (she isn't even there usually), and one does run the other shop, answering phones etc. Neither seem to be doing very well, and one is for sale. So why why why would someone want to buy one? Is it because they think it will be fun to own a shop, easy money???? Hmmmm....i'd love to hear why.

Maybe they really like dogs, and like you said, think "it would be fun" to own a grooming shop. As I quickly learned when taking my course, there is a big difference between liking dogs and grooming them! Also, why would a non groomer take calls at a shop, how could they answer any questions?

They do it because all the bags of money we take home everyday, the pure enjoyment and getting to play with puppies all day long LOL

I always wondered why too. I guess they think we make a lot of money.They don't know how hard it is to find a good groomer. It that salon still open?

I'm not sure, it was for sale a few months ago and i haven't heard if it sold. There is another one that was bought a couple of years ago near me and i don't know why they are in business, apparently there are two groomers, barely no what there doing and now there making appointments and when the clients arrive for them there closed!!!! Why do clients put up with this???
