As a business owner, how many of us actually take our tips at the end of the day? I for one never have, all the girls do but i just leave it in the till. So i got thinking one day, why don't I? So since the middle of October i have, and i've saved up $700. WOW, thats money i never even realized was in the till. So now i take it out everyday, put it away and i'm saving it all for income tax. I hate getting a big bill after tax time, and i never seem to have the money available, so now i do!!! I can't believe i haven't done this sooner!!!

Yes, I take my tips each day. I wouldn't be able to leave them in the till or it would screw up my float. I also balance the amount in revenue with what has been deposited in the bank each week. So I would notice at the end of the week if we were over or under at all.

I do take my tips.. keep them for lunches, or save them up to get my hair done.. or something similar that I don't normally spend money on. I'll even work on my days off to save up for new tools or equipment that I really want. I worked 6 days a week for two months two get my hydraulic table & hv dryer!
