getting rid of the hair

Post by thh20 on September 17th 2009, 2:03 pm

Does anyone have any other way of disposing of the fur/hair that accumulates at the end of each day, other than to throw it out? As long as the hair is clean and free of parasites, I'd like to find someone who'd be willing to take it and make clothes with it, or spread it in gardens, or...

The city of Toronto won't let me put the hair in the green bin with the other kitchen scraps & such. You'd think pet hair would be biodegradable?? They'll take dirty diapers (thank God! At the rate my son's going through diapers, I'd be in real trouble if we couldn't green bin them! lol), but not pet hair... That makes no sense to me... Suspect

There's actually a lady near me in whitby who spins wool. She has spun dog hair before but its super expensive. Unfortunately she doesn't just take the hair for the sake of taking it, i would have to pay her Sad
