Great to have a Canadian place to meet
Well I've had my own shop since July 2006 in Brantford, Ontario. Business is still slow, only about 5-6 dogs a week. I groom out of my home, in a residential area, so I'm sure that doesn't help. I'm ok not being too busy right now though, since I have two young children that demand much of my time.
Anyway, I'm 26, went to grooming school in 2001, worked at P.S. for 2 weeks as a bather/brusher since I wasn't going to pay to go to "their" school after dishing out $$ to go to a different one...besides I didn't really like it there, and I found a small ma&pa shop that was willing to hire a "newbie". There I learned more about hand scissoring and a lot more "finish" grooming. I was there for about 9 months before we started our human family. I kept grooming my own dogs and some friends dogs throughout, but I didn't "work"for about 4 1/2 years. Then I opened my shop where I am now. It's coming along, business is slowly building, and I think that I will have a good clientele in a few years.
I have 2 dogs, a Golden and a Chinese Crested...and I have 2 cats, a Ragdoll and a Siamese.
Anyway, that's me!

Hi Sarah, great name (it's the same as my daughters)! Glad you could join us. Love your chinese crested photos, she looks adorable. Groomingwithfinese also has Chinese Cresteds.

Actually it was Groomingwithfinesse that got me interested in the breed in the first place Her Sofie won my heart, and after meeting a few other Cresteds at a dog show, I was smitten
