Hi from Sutton Ontario
Hi
I live outside of Sutton Ontario but am going to be moving to Newmarket this fall. I use to show Papillons in obedience and have always done all my own grooming on my own dogs. I have DVDs to help me learn but not hands on help. Day school is not an option, tried to find a mentor..no luck..I noticed PS in Newmarket wanted a bather..maybe that would be a good start to gain some confidence? I'm not sure how to apply though because it says apply online and all my work experience is non-animal so it would look odd. Anyhoo I have 4 dogs..a border collie, toy poodle, chinese hairless crested and a poddle/brussels x..plus a ton of other animals. You can check them all out at my blog if interested.

Re: Hi from Sutton Ontario
Welcome Jennifer, glad to have you aboard
Have you tried applying for a bather job at a salon, that is usually the best way to go, that way you learn everything from the ground up.

Re: Hi from Sutton Ontario
Welcome! I actually came across your website somehow a few months ago and have been following Timmy's adventures =)
I'd say apply for the job at PS for sure, everyone has to start somewhere! Even without experience, that fact that you have dogs and are eager and willing to learn should be a help in getting your foot in the door.
