Hand Stripping
Anyone do this? Where did you learn? How much do you charge, per hour or a set fee.

Re: Hand Stripping
I learned in school. I don't like to do it at all, so I don't. In the past I just charged a regular groom price plus $10-30 depending. There's a groomer in my town that does it and we're friends so I just send strippers to her

Re: Hand Stripping
i do stripping. learn it in school as well. i don;t enjoy it anymore as its just too time consuming. and not to mention i don;t charge enough for it! it can be relaxing though, when there is no preasure to get anything else done! lol
i read somewhere that a good way to quote the price for srtipping is 2 X the cost of the clipped style.

Re: Hand Stripping
I do a few stripped dogs. I charge the same way I do for all grooms - charges are based on how long it takes me to groom the dog. my grooming rates are based on $1/minute of hands-on time.
I have one Irish Terrier I strip who is in regularly and since her coat is nicely rolled now and only takes a few minutes to strip I charge $35-40 for her. Another Irish I do only comes in twice a year, needs a major stripping and is usually about $75. For a comparison, on a haircut on this breed, I charge $50-60
