I am new here and I am wondering if you could tell me what show is it and when does it play? Does it air on animal planet?

Hi Pixie Charm, the show ran earlier this year on Animal Planet. I think they are going to do another season, but I don't know when it will start. If you go onto the Groomer to Groomer website, some of the people there know more about it. I don't get Animal Planet with my cable package, but I was able to watch it on my computer.

I have been watching it and I guess I have been watching the re-runs from the last season! Malissa....hmmm. Is that the one who is always talking about having "the seventh sense"? I felt sorry for the guy who broke the leg off the yarn dog!!! I liked Jonathan, found him to be a little self-absorbed, but liked his way of working.

Yes Malissa is the one with the "seventh" sense LOL. Jonathon is an actual competition groomer in the US.

Malissa is the teeny tiny blond who is always saying she has a "seventh sense with dogs (oh and sheep!!)" I find it deliciously funny when she keeps mentioning it as thow she is trying to convince everyone!! A client of mine told me that I am a dog-whisperer!! I mean, what does that eat in the winter anyway!! lol I have never heard that expression before and I have no clue as to what it means, and so how am I supposed to react!!? Was it an insult or a remark on the groom I performed? The young dog was fearful because it was abused severely as a pup, and so I took more time speaking softly to him in order to gain his trust. I thought it turned out good, because in the end, he would not leave my side and kept showering me with kisses! Hopefully, whatever her reason for saying that, does not change her mind about having me as a groomer! I was to shy (and felt a little dumb) to ask what she meant!! Embarassed

Have you seen the movie horse whipserer, i believe thats the name, robert redford was in it. He basically tamed a wild horse if i remember properly. Its a compliment to you, nothing to be ashamed of.

It is definetly a compliment, it means that you can communicate with dogs and let them know you understand them. Cesar Milan a famous dog trainer is also hailed as a dog whisperer. I am sure they will be recommending you to all their friends.

Re: opinions on the show

I didn't even know the 2009 season was starting, butI came across it last night. What did everyone think? I thought the Judges were slightly less arrogant than last year. I think they must have heard the comments and changed their "acting" somewhat.

As for the groomers, it makes me laugh...they bill them as the "top 12 groomers" in the land, then they go and give a dog brush burn (which in my books is COMPLETELY unforgivable). Isn't that something a new groomer might do, not a "top groomer" (my apologies to all new groomers!) I'm not sure I'll make it through the whole season, I can't get past how badly the show is scripted and edited. If it wasn't about grooming, I wouldn't watch it at all.

What does everyone else think?

I saw it on Animal Planet on Tuesday night, either 8p.m. or 9p.m. (can't remember exactly). I didn't know it was on. I thought it was going to be a rerun of last season when I turned it on but was surprised it was the first episode of the escond season.

I'm not really sure I like the show. Watching the groomers is interesting enough, as a group of people, but the actual show, as a reality show is pretty lame. If it wasn't about grooming I wouldn't have any interest in it. What does everyone else think?
