new addition to my family!
I had to share with someone! I found a poodle to adopt!! He's coming from great lines and has been health tested and all that jazz. His name is London, he's a year old, cream in colour and 14" a the shoulder. By the sounds of it his personality should fit with my female perfectly. She said he'll fall asleep on the grooming table, holy crow... how great is that! I'M SO EXCITED!!
his pic is the first one on the left on the homepage

Re: new addition to my family!
the only thing that I don't like is that I have to wait until March to get him!! Too cold to send him on the plane right now. Oh well, I'll have that many months to get prepared!!! It's gonna be weird to get adjusted to having two dogs.. never had two before!

Re: new addition to my family!
Elizabeth, I'm so happy for you. I would love to have a Standard poodle. One of the SPs I groom just had a litter of puppies, all black. However, with the possibility of us moving into the city and into a condo, I doubt I'll ever have a large dog again.
How did you find out about London?
By the way, my husband was in your shop last Wednesday. He was in Cape Breton and I asked him to pick up some dog food, as we were about to run out and I had no way of getting to the store (we only have one car and he had it!). I have changed my username, in case your wondering who this is, I'm the groomer from the St. Margaret's Bay area.

Re: new addition to my family!
I forgot to mention, we also are going to have a new additon to our family, a new daughter-in-law. My son and his fiance will be getting married this July. The wedding is in Victoria, B.C., so once again I will be taking at least two weeks vacation right at my busiest time. Of course, we may have moved by then and it won't be a problem!!

Re: new addition to my family!
aw thanks! Hey! I was trying to figure out who this boxer boy was.. thinking you were a guy. All makes sense now. Anyway, did we have the food you were looking for? Probably not, we're always running out of stuff :/ I hope whoever waited on him was nice & helpful!
I was online searching for breeders that have adult dogs for adoption b/c I don't have the money to buy one. I just fell upon her website and sent her a quick email not excecting anything and she called my store a couple days later and I actually had time to talk to her. SO anyway after our convo she's like, "well he's yours if you want him!" I was thrilled!
Oh and, congrats to your son! Vancouver Island is SO NICE! have you been there before? I jsut got back on Jan 6th. My mom lives in Port Alberni and I try to make it out once a year.

Re: new addition to my family!
Hi Elizabeth, yes, I have been to Victoria before. My in-laws lived in Parksville for a couple of years and we went to visit, but it was over 20 years ago.

Re: new addition to my family!
Well, the time is here. We leave next Wed for B.C. to attend our son's wedding! Got my Ativan for flying, so hopefully all set. Hope the weather is nicer in B.C. than it has been here in Nova Scotia.
