Re: Knitted Boa/Scarf
I made one in grey, black and white and it was hilarious because when it was rolled in a ball, my dog was acting as thow it was a hamster or something! Was looking for a "butt" to sniff on it! Animals sure do bring out the giggles in a person! He also has his own Teddy bear and it is his favorite "companion" if you get my meaning! Well, when I wash the Teddy Bear and give it back to him, I swear he acts as thow he is flirting with it! He stands sideways wagging his tail and then goes to sniff it, all the while dancing around as thow he is meeting another dog! Lol, funny but true!

That looks very cute. have you found any christmasy 'wool'. When I was making them last year I had a problem finding reds or greens. Admittably, I haven't looked this year.
Did you make yours the way I made mine (5 stiches, lots of rows) or the way Kim suggested(lots of stiches, 2 rows)? Just wondering how they worked out Kim's way.

Re: Knitted Boa/Scarf
I went to dollarama and found some wool there, you have to hunt in the bins, and i found some glistening blue like the picture, red, dark green and white.
So far all i've done is like you, 4-6 stitches across then lots of rows, they seem to stretch nicely as well. I'm doing some more tonight, so i'll try kims way too, i forgot about that way.

Re: Knitted Boa/Scarf
They are adorable! Are they knitted or crocheted (sp?). What size needles do you use? Tell us more
Wish I could have made it to the craft day.

Re: Knitted Boa/Scarf
There really easy to make. I use my large needles not sure of the number off hand. If you can do basic knitting thats all you need to know how to do. I cast on 4-6 stitches depending on what size dog i'm putting them on, then i knit knit knit, until its the length that i want, then i cast off. Then i used a crochet hook to attach the too ends together, by using my extra wool from the start and finish i weave it through attaching both ends together and tie a knot. I'm going to try using a large sewing needle tomorrow, that has to be way easier.
Ruffcuts; i did try kim's idea earlier this evening and i didn't like it. There was no give to the scarf after, at least by doing it our way you can stretch it out to fit more sizes of dogs.

Well I'm hooked LOL. I went out on Monday picked up some wool, and needles and have been making scarfs every night. They are so neat. Thanks Sara for the great idea!

Re: Knitted Boa/Scarf
LOL....it is addicting isn't it, sitting in front of the TV knitting. I was talking to a lady who has a knitting store across the street from us, she suggested putting 3 scarves on the needles at once so its like mass production, i never thought of that, and you could get way more done!!!
Try dollarama for some wool, they have some neat glitter wool that shines, the blue i put on panda was from there. (pic above)
