Basically anything under 10 pounds, or over 100. Also would prefer to not groom poodles and Bichons, I can never get them to look right.

Old English Sheepdogs and Spitz (Am. Eskimo). Luckily we don't have any OESD as clients and my business partner doesn't mind grooming the other. Oh and I forgot the other breed, big huge dogs that have no manners and owners that have no clue!

I don't like grooming Maltese. They can be nasty little suckers.

Re: Least favorite breeds to groom?
I have changed my mind about my least favourite breed to groom, now it is PWDs. All the PWDS I have done do not like having their heads touched! They also take a long time to do, especially if they haven't been to the groomer for a while.

Re: Least favorite breeds to groom?
My last favourite breed to groom, really it is a long list but off the top is Chows, Huskey, Spitz, and those little dogs that scream for no real reason. Fat large breeds that dont want to stand and, I have these clients with the strangest requests, like a shihtuz that gets matted legs but they dont want it even all over so the back is 3/4" on the back and 7 legs...looks ugly! and the client that prefers her two pugs, shaved in a 10, also very ugly!

Re: Least favorite breeds to groom?
I hate grooming cockers, esp the stinky ones!!!! I cringe every time I see one on the books. I groom one in full coat every four weeks and it takes me three hours every time. I also don't like doing nasty Yorkies, which a lot of the ones around here are.. I think mainly because of uneducated backyard breeders. I love grooming goldens because they usually come out so good, but the ones with the bad fluffy coats or who are overweight are just a big headache!

I agree with you Elizabeth on the Goldens, especially if they have really thick coats andare overweight! Last Saturday had to be my worst experience with a larger dog. He is a Husky mix and he howled the WHOLE time he was being groomed, my eardrums were sore by the end of it all!

Re: Least favorite breeds to groom?
at least he's living up to the stereo typical husky! I have one golden thats gotta weigh more than 100lbs, I groom her on the floor and she lays there like a champ! hah And she's one of those that has a coat that matts when you look at it funny, terrible condition everytime. I just convinced the owner to put her on a 6 week schedule, which is good for her.. but my knees are gonna hate me when I'm older.
