Groomer for Handicapped dog
My poor dog needs a bath. Normally I bathe him in our shower stall with a hand held shower head. He is a big (90lb) long haired Aussie. We have been dealing with a terminal cancer that has left his front left limb extremely weak. He is no longer able to go up the stairs to the shower or stand for any length of time. Because he has to lie when eating he has all manner of food and yuck down his beautiful white chest. I have tried to keep it wiped off but he is now stained and a bit smelly. I know he will feel much better cleaned up. He is not used to going to a groomer so I need someone who can accommodate his disability and offer a little extra TLC so he is not stressed. I live in Toronto, near Yonge & 401. If you can recommend someone in the area or would like to offer your own services I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Groomer for Handicapped dog
HI Kobismom sorry to hear about your aussie, I also have an aussie who is 14yrs old and coming near the end of his time with us. I cannot accomodate you as I am not in Toronto but I think I would reccommend you try a "dry" shampoo. We sell a product called facetime, which is actually a foam that you apply massage in and leave to dry (no rinsing). It actually helps clean the face and smells delicious! I'm sure there are other products out there but this is my favorite. Using the dry shampoo would also lessen the stress of taking your dog out to be bathed. Best wishes to you and your beloved pet
