I have now learned how to make those "stiffened" top knot bows, that they sell at the dog shows. If anyone is interested in some of those please let me know.
There are the lhasa size, made of 5/8 7/8 ribbon.

I can now make party bows, a great addition to the bandanna!!! We put them on with an elastic where the knot is.

I haven't received mine yet but I imagine they will be in the post today! You really do great work! Congrats!!

Yay! I received the bows and bow-ties! For any of you ladies who were debating on making a purchase; do not hesitate! This lady is gifted!! I will be working on three female cats this weekend and the bows will look beautiful on these long-haired beauties! I also get to do a shitzu (with ATTITUDE!!) any tips to tame the "wild" in her?

Have you ever watched Cesar Milan (the dog whisperer)? He is awesome and we have started using some of his techniques in our salon. Might help with your little shih tzu (shit zu).

Isn't he awesome though! I love watching his shows! The only thing that makes me hesitate a little is the fact that the owner of the shih tzu is one of those people who insist on being there (Sometimes making matters MUCH worse!!) and she coos to the dog all the way through. When it's time to clip the nails or clean the teeth she always gets nervous which in turn makes the dog jumpy!! Grrr! It would be so much easier if she would take off for a coffee or something while I groom her pet! This is why I think she would have her nose in a twist if I were to restrain her wiley pooch the way Cesar does!

However, as I have posted before, I am hopeless at putting bows onto dogs. They never sit right, so I just give up. I've got at least three bags of bows that I never use.
